§ MR. DEASYasked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether he is aware that Mr. Barry, late County Inspector of Constabulary in the county of Cork, has been appointed to the Commission of the Peace for that county; and, whether he has approved of Mr. Barry's appointment?
§ MR CAMPBELL-BANNERMANI understand that it is the case that Mr. 255 Barry is a magistrate for the County of Cork. It is no part of my functions to approve selections for the Commission of the Peace; but I have no doubt the Lord Chancellor had excellent reasons for the appointment.
