§ SIR ARTHUR OTWAYThe London, Brighton, and South Coast Railway Company have introduced a Bill into Parliament which has been referred to me in the usual manner as Chairman of Ways and Means, owing to the fact of its being unopposed. I have, however, thought it undesirable, in consequence of having been a Director for many years of that Railway Company, that the Bill should be adjudicated upon by me. I have, therefore, requested the Chairman of the Committee on Standing Orders to take my place, and he has consented to do so. I, therefore, beg to move that the Chairman of the Committee of Standing Orders be appointed Chairman of the said Committee on that Bill.
§ Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee of Standing Orders be appointed Chairman of the Committee on the said Bill.
