HC Deb 05 May 1884 vol 287 c1315
MR. BIGGAR

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether it is a fact that over 200 Roman Catholic militiamen, quartered at Carrickfergus, are without a chaplain; and, whether he is prepared to furnish sufficient funds to have the deficiency remedied?

THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON

I can only repeat the answer I gave on the 21st of April—that it is not in my power to increase the allowance laid down by Regulation. That allowance is found to be adequate in other similar cases.
