asked the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether the Earl of Derby had yet come to a decision on the points raised by the recent West Indian deputation, especially as to the inclusion of the West Indian Colonies in the favoured nation clause with the United States, and the proposed allowance of reciprocal trade or tariff arrangements between the Colonies themselves and the United States?

No decision has yet been arrived at on the points mentioned; but my noble Friend (the Earl of Derby; is in communication with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and both the Colonial and Foreign Office are giving their earnest attention to the matter.
