asked the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether representations have been made to Her Majesty's Government in favour of changes in the constitution of the Colony of Mauritius; and, if so, whether he will lay upon the Table of this House any Correspondence relating to the subject?

Yes, Sir, there have been such proposals, and the Correspondence on the subject is being prepared for presentation to Parliament and is nearly ready.
