HC Deb 31 March 1884 vol 286 c1171
MR. PULESTON

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Whether, by the provisions of the General Order of 17th January, 1884, issued by the Commissioners of Inland Revenue, a number of Division Officers in the out-door department are now in receipt of smaller salaries than other Officers who are their juniors in rank and service; and, if so, whether the Commissioners of Inland Revenue contemplate taking any action in the matter?

MR. COURTNEY

Sir, this inequality has arisen in a few cases, but to a very small extent; and it can only exist for a brief period. The Inland Revenue Board do not think it necessary to take any action in consequence of it.
