said, that no intelligence had been received since the last reply of his noble Friend the Secretary of State for War on the subject.

inquired, whether information had been received respecting the further breakage of the telegraphic communication with Khartoum?

If the hon. Member refers to the report in the evening papers, no such intelligence has been received by the Government.
