HC Deb 27 March 1884 vol 286 c876
BARON HENRY DE WORMS

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty, Whether the inquiry which is at present going on at the Admiralty respecting the labourers employed at the various dockyards includes those employed at the victualling yards; and, whether any stops will be taken for removing the particular grievance suffered by the labourers at the victualling yards in consequence of the time served on the hired list not counting towards their superannuation allowance on being discharged from the established list?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

The question of the wages of labourers in the Victualling Yards is not before the Admiralty. No difference exists in the mode of calculating pensions for Dockyard and Victualling Yard labourers, hired time never being allowed to reckon for pension.
