HC Deb 20 March 1884 vol 286 c296
MR. ARTHUR O'CONNOR

asked the Surveyor General of the Ordnance, If he can state whether the bayonets with which the Forces under General Graham are armed are of Government manufacture, or were obtained by purchase?

MR. BRAND

, in reply, said, that no bayonets had been obtained since 1880, and that it was quite impossible to say whether they had been purchased or were of Government manufacture. General Graham had been asked to send home a sample of the bayonets in use by the British troops in the Soudan.
