§ MR. O'SULLIVANasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, If he is aware that there is a large amount of unpaid dividends lying at the Bank of Ireland to the credit of the Irish Court of Bankruptcy in place of being paid out to the proper owners entitled to receive the same; and, if so, if he will take steps to publish the names of the parties entitled to this fund, so that it may reach its rightful owners?
§ MR. COURTNEYThere is under statute an unclaimed dividend account of the Irish Court of Bankruptcy; but money is not paid into it until notice has been given to the parties entitled, and more than a year has elapsed without their claiming it. Payments are made from this account to persons who can prove their claims, special facilities being given for the recovery of small sums. The question has recently been raised of giving increased facilities for reclaiming unpaid dividends in bankruptcy in Ireland, and it is now under consideration.
