MACFARLANEcalled the attention of the Prime Minister to the fact that his Motion with reference to the Crofters' Commission was first on the Paper for the Evening Sitting; and, reminding the right hon. Gentleman that the same subject was prevented from being discussed on the night of the adjournment of the House for the Whitsun Recess, asked, Whether the Government would undertake to keep a House?
MR. GLADSTONEsaid, the Government would endeavour to fulfil their general obligation to make and keep a House on Friday evenings, certainly not without a recollection that the question which the hon. Member desired to bring forward was a question which very clearly called for discussion.
