asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether it is true that on the 24th May Lord Caledon, Captain of Militia and J. P. for county Tyrone, committed an assault on the head constable of police at Omagh; and, if the attention of the Lord Chancellor will be directed to the matter?

A complaint has been made of an alleged altercation and trifling assault by Lord Caledon, and the Constabulary authorities are in communication on the subject with the Colonel commanding his regiment. Lord Caledon is not in the Commission of the Peace.
