§ In reply to Mr. COLERIDGE KENNARD,
§ MR. COURTNEYsaid, it was well known that one of the main objects of this Bill was to increase the amount that might be deposited in the course of a year in the Post Office Savings Bank, and that was strongly opposed by a great number of hon. Members. In view of this opposition, that part of the Bill would be dropped; but the other parts of the Bill dealing with the machinery of the Savings Bank would be proceeded with.
§ MR. STOREYI beg to give Notice that I shall oppose the Bill in every way, seeing that the only valuable clause has been withdrawn.
§ MR. COLERIDGE KENNARDIs it intended that the Bill should be extended to the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man?
§ MR. COURTNEYI think it will as regards those parts of it which are of no value.
