LYONSasked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether, as the Waste Lands Afforestation (Ireland) Bill is generally supported by Irish Members on both sides of the House, and by many English and Scotch Members, and is blocked by a Lord of the Treasury, he will direct the block to be removed, in order that this Bill, in favour of which numerous petitions from all classes and creeds in Ireland have been presented to this House, may be fairly considered on its merits?
MR. GLADSTONEsaid, he was afraid he could not promise a day; but, at the same time, the Government would withdraw their block from it.
