§ MR. SHAW LEFEVREI propose at once to lay on the Table of the House a very long and interesting Report by the eminent architect, Mr. Pearson, on this subject. I shall also place in the Library the plans which he has submitted for the restoration of the West Front of the Hall. In the event of these plans not meeting with serious objection in this House, I shall submit in the present Session a Supplementary Estimate for carrying them into effect. In the event, however, of there being much difference of opinion as to the expediency of carrying them into effect, the Government will not object to referring the subject to a Select Committee. The plans will be placed in the Library of the House.
