HC Deb 07 July 1884 vol 290 c369

Order for Second Reading read.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Bill be now read a second time."—(Mr. Evelyn Ashley.)

MR. WARTON

knew nothing at all about the Bill, and, therefore, would like some explanation of its provisions from the Government.

MR. EVELYN ASHLEY

said, he had simply moved the second reading on behalf of the hon. Gentleman in charge of the Bill, who informed him that it was a Bill to protect cockles.

Motion agreed to.

Bill read a second time, and committed for To-morrow.
