HC Deb 29 February 1884 vol 285 c223
SIR HENRY TYLER

Can the noble Marquess the Secretary of State for War tell me, Whether it is a fact that General Graham, Sir Redvers Buller, and Sir Evelyn Baring all requested that a battery of Horse Artillery might be sent to Egypt, and whether that request was refused by Her Majesty's Government?

THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON

I think it would be better for the hon. Gentleman to put down the Question for Monday. I may say that a suggestion to that effect was made from Egypt, but I do not think it came from General Graham.

MR. MONTAGUE GUEST

Can the noble Lord say when he received the last telegram from General Graham?

THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON

We have had no telegram direct from him since Saturday.
