HC Deb 02 December 1884 vol 294 cc438-9
MR. ROLLS

asked the President of the Board of Trade, If his attention has been called to the notices given by several of the leading Railway Companies of their intention to introduce Bills in the ensuing Session of Parliament seeking for power to revise and define their toll rates and terminal charges; and, when, and in what way, a statement will be made of the course which the Board of Trade intend to pursue in connection with these Bills?

MR. CHAMBERLAIN

said, his attention had been called to this matter; but it would be premature to express any opinion, as the terms of the Bills were not yet before him. He thought the most convenient time for making any statement which might be necessary would be when these Bills came forward for second reading.
