§ LORD CLAUD HAMILTONasked the President of the Board of Trade, Whether it would be possible for him to announce to the House before the Prorogation the names of the Royal Commissioners on Shipping, and the terms of the Reference?
§ MR. CHAMBERLAINI quite acknowledge the importance of this matter, and the great interest that is felt in it outside, and I shall be very glad if I am able to make the statement the noble Lord has asked of me before Parliament is prorogued; but, unfortunately, it is not in my power to name a day when I shall be in such a position. Communications are going on. I am inviting various Gentlemen to allow me to submit their names to Her Majesty; and until these communications are complete, and the recommendations have received the assent of the Queen, it is not possible for me to make any statement.
