HC Deb 28 April 1884 vol 287 c737
MR. HARRINGTON

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether it is true that, in the town of Omagh, the county inspector of constabulary, the sub-inspector, and the head constable are all Protestants?

MR. TREVELYAN

I understand that two of the officers mentioned are members of the Church of Ireland, and one is a Wesleyan Methodist. The Inspector General informs me that all these officers were sent to Omagh in the ordinary course of filling up vacancies, and irrespective of their religion.
