addressed the House as followeth:— I beg respectfully lo thank the House for the indulgence which it has shown me, during my enforced absence, owing to illness; and I regret that the House should have been put to any inconvenience on my account. I also wish to express my obligation to the Chairman of the Committee of Ways and Means, for the self-sacrifice which he made, in taking the Chair in my place.
