BIGGARasked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether the House of Mr. Charles Shenan, of Eshvaugh, Glengevlin, county Cavan, was searched by police on Saturday last, 28th April; whether anything objectionable was found in his house; and, what was the reason for the search?
§ MR. TREVELYAN, in reply, said, that the house was searched on the day named, but that nothing of a compromising character was found. He must decline to state the grounds upon which the police exercised their legal right of search in this case.
