§ MR. GIBSONasked the President of the Board of Trade, Whether it is true that Professor Tyndall, D.C.L., F.R.S., has resigned his position as Scientific Adviser to the Board of Trade and the Lighthouse Boards; and, if so, what reasons he has assigned for so doing?
§ MR. CHAMBERLAINI am sorry to say that Dr. Tyndall has resigned 29 his position as Scientific Adviser to the Trinity House, the Irish Light Commissioners, and the Board of Trade. He has not stated very precisely his reasons for so doing; but no doubt they are indicated in a lengthy Correspondence which has taken place between Dr. Tyndall and the Board of Trade. If the right hon. and learned Gentleman thinks the production of these Papers sufficiently important I shall not oppose the Motion.
§ MR. GIBSONI will move it. Will the right hon. Gentleman include in the Correspondence that with the Trinity House, the Board of Trade, the Commissioners of Northern Lights, and the Irish Lights Commission?
