COLONEL COLTHUESTasked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether he will consider the advisability of introducing into the Poor Relief (Ireland) Bill a Clause giving power to the Local Government Board to authorise out-door relief when necessary in any given Union, thus assimilating its powers to those enjoyed by the English Board?
§ MR. TREVELYANSir, I have already more than once fully stated in debate the views of the Irish Government on this matter, and I shall be prepared to do so again should occasion arise. I cannot undertake to introduce such a clause as is suggested.
