§ MR. W. M. TORRENSasked the Chairman of the Metropolitan Board of Works, If there is any immediate prospect of rebuilding human habitations in and around the space, for more than a year left wholly vacant on the south side of Essex Road, Islington, known as Angler's Gardens?
§ SIR JAMES M'GAREL-HOGGSir, I beg to inform my hon. Friend that the Board was only in a position to clear the land referred to in August, 1882; and a modification of the scheme having been found desirable, the consent of the Secretary of State for the Home Department was applied for. This was obtained on the 6th instant; and the land will now very shortly be submitted for sale by public auction, with a view to the erection of improved dwellings for the labouring classes.
