HC Deb 14 March 1883 vol 277 c515

Order for Second Reading read.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Bill be now read a second time."—(Mr. Hopwood.)

MR. WARTON,

in rising to move the rejection of the Bill, said, that the rates for education purposes were already too high. Those who had literary tastes could in these days gratify them at a very small expense, and there was no need to multiply free libraries.

And it being a quarter of the hour before Six of the clock, the Debate stood adjourned till To-morrow.
