§ MR. BROADHURSTasked the Vice President of the Council, Whether it is true that students have been refused admittance to some Training Colleges on the ground that they were not tall enough to join the Rifle Corps?
§ MR. MUNDELLA, in reply, said, he had heard of one case of the kind referred to in the Question; but the Committee of that particular College were not responsible, having made no rules on the subject. The Education Department had intimated that the practice was to be discontinued, on pain of losing the grant.
§ MR. BROADHURSTasked whether the right hon. Gentleman would give the name of the institution in question?
§ [No reply was given.]
