§ MR. TREVELYANSir, I must remind the hon. Member that I made no promise to lay the Report referred to on the Table of the House, nor can I now undertake to do so, as the question it deals with is a very large one indeed, involving very important transactions, which will require to be considered very carefully by the Cabinet beforehand. I have received the following telegram from the Under Secretary, which I will read to the House—
As the Land Commissioners state they are not agreed on the subject of the tenants under the Irish Church Act and only send a Report from their solicitor, I think it would not he advisable to present their letter.
§ MR. T. A. DICKSONsaid, he certainly understood the right hon. Gentleman to promise that he would lay the Report on the Table.
