§ MR. T. A. DICKSONasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Why, in the Board of Works Return of Loans to Irish Railways, the loan to the Belfast Central Railway Company is omitted; and, what is the amount of the loan, the rate of interest, and terms of repayment?
§ MR. COURTNEYSir, the loan in question was not included in the Return because it was not made by the Board of Works, but by the Public Works Loans Commissioners, under the old system. Its amount is £100,000, and the whole is to be repaid in May, 1886. In consideration of the guarantee of the Imperial Credit Company and of the early date of repayment, only 4 per cent interest is charged. I am not aware of any similar loan; but I will inquire into the matter.
