§ SIR H. DRUMMOND WOLFFasked the Prime Minister, Whether, considering the undertaking given by the Secretary of State for War in the last Session that the question of the re-appointment of the Standing Committees should be brought forward at a time when it could be fully discussed by the House, he would now state when he would be prepared to bring forward the question of the re-appointment of those Committees for next Session?
MR. GLADSTONENo, Sir; I have not come to any resolution as to asking the House to consider that question at the present time; but, as the hon. Member intends to imply by his Question, a proposal will not be made without consulting the convenience of the House.
§ MR. GIBSONsaid, a distinct promise was given that the question would be brought on before the end of July. [An hon. Member: Or October.]
