HC Deb 23 July 1883 vol 282 c133
MR. BIGGAR

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Is it the case that the representatives of the British Foreign Office in America influenced the Express Company to refuse to forward parcels to Mr. James Lindsay, newsagent, Glasgow; and, if so, what was their reason for doing so?

LORD EDMOND FITZ MAURICE

No, Sir; I am not aware that such is the case, and the Foreign Office has neither received any information nor issued any instructions upon the subject.
