§ MR. W. H. JAMESasked the Secretary to the Treasury, If he will undertake not to take the Committee stage upon the Crown Lands Bill at a time when the opponents of the Bill would not have time to state their objections previous to the Speaker leaving the Chair?
§ MR. COURTNEYI believe the opposition to this Bill is, in reality, directed to a couple of clauses, and I would undertake not to take these clauses in Committee without due warning to those who opposed them. At this time of the Session, I must avail myself of any opportunity that offers to move that the Speaker leaves the Chair.
