§ LORD EDMOND FITZMAURICEThe Mozambique Tariff of 1877, which was a liberal one, was modified to a certain extent in 1880. Further alterations in it, made recently by the Governor, of a restrictive tendency, have been disavowed by the Portuguese Government. Its application to the other African Possessions of Portugal is under discussion in the negotiations.
