HC Deb 23 February 1883 vol 276 c711
MR. RYLANDS

asked the President of the Local Government Board, If he can explain the cause of delay in the completion of the Census Returns for England and Scotland, the voluminous Returns for Ireland having already been printed and circulated?

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE,

in reply, said, the delay which had taken place was largely due to the great increase of population in England and Scotland.
