HC Deb 22 February 1883 vol 276 c586
MR. GREER

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether it is the intention of the Government to call out the Irish Militia for training this year?

THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON

It is intended, Sir, to make provisions in the Army Estimates for the ensuing year for the training of the Irish Militia, and orders have been issued to re-open recruiting. Of course, the actual training will depend upon the state of the country at the time.
