HC Deb 19 February 1883 vol 276 c315
MR. O'SHEA

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether any further official Reports as to distres in the county Clare have been received by the Irish Local Government Board; and, if so, whether he will lay those Reports upon the Table of the House?

MR. TREVELYAN

Further official Reports as to distress in the county of Clare have been received by the Local Government Board. They show that there is considerable distress in particular localities; but there is no reason to think that adequate relief cannot be afforded through the administration of the Poor Law. The Reports were made for the information of the Government, and I cannot undertake to lay them on the Table of the House.
