§ MR. BROADHURSTasked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether, seeing the lateness of the Session, and the shortness of the notice of reduced interest on Friendly Society deposits proposed in Clause 17 of the Revenue and Friendly Societies Bill, he will advise the withdrawal of that Clause from the Bill?
MR. GLADSTONE, in reply, said, that, under Parliamentary compulsion, 751 he very much regretted that the Government must desist from pressing that clause of the Bill.
