They are ready to consider the merits of any person that the Porte may suggest for the Governorship of the Lebanon in the event of the Sultan revoking the mandate of Rustum Pasha. In the case of Trenk Bib Doda, the Mirdite Chief, Her Majesty's Government thought it doubtful whether he was fitted by age and experience, and knowledge of the language, for the post.
