asked the Lord Advocate, Whether he will postpone the Second Reading of the Universities (Scotland) Bill, which stands for Thursday next, till such a date as will permit the reasonable consideration of the Bill by those most interested in it?

I shall be quite ready to postpone the second reading of this Bill until such time as will give opportunity for consideration to those most interested, and I shall be glad to confer with hon. Members as to the time desirable.
