HC Deb 30 October 1882 vol 274 c368
MR. A. M'ARTHUR

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether Her Majesty's Government have received from the British Consul General in Madagascar any information concerning the dispute which has arisen between the French and Malagasy authorities in that island; and, if so, whether he will lay it upon the Table of the House?

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

Consul Pakenham has reported fully from time to time differences existing between the French and Madagascar Governments; but these Reports are of a confidential nature, and for the present, at all events, cannot be published.
