HC Deb 21 November 1882 vol 274 c1794
MR. BRINTON

asked the President of the Local Government Board, Whether, having regard to the serious injury to land and other property in the Midland and Southern districts, consequent on the overflow of rivers during the present autumn, he is prepared to give the earliest possible attention next Session to the Rivers Conservancy Bill?

MR. DODSON,

in reply, said, he was aware of the mischief caused by floods in many parts of the country; but he could not now, on behalf of the Government, enter into any engagement as to the measures to be introduced next Session to meet the difficulty.
