HC Deb 16 November 1882 vol 274 cc1533-4
SIR JOHN JENKINS

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, If he is aware of the fact that about 300 tons of dynamite is stored in one room at Bury Port, Carmarthenshire, within a comparatively short distance of the shipping in the Port and of large works where hundreds of workmen are employed; whether an explosion of waste dynamite took place there on Saturday last; and, if he will cause inquiries to be made as to the above facts and as to the precautions (if any) taken to prevent serious accidents?

SIR WILLIAM HARCOURT,

in reply, said, that inquiries had been made, and he had received a Report, which was too long to read to the House; but he would be happy to show it to his hon. Friend.
