HC Deb 13 November 1882 vol 274 c1294
MR. O'CONNOR POWER

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, How many applications to have fair rents fixed have proceeded from the county of Mayo; and, how many of these applications' yet remain to be heard?

MR. TREVELYAN

In the Land Commission Court in the county Mayo the number of applications to have fair rents fixed has been 9,349; 1,171 have been disposed of, and 8,177 remain to be heard. In the Civil Bill Courts the number of such applications has been 1,999, and of these 1,107 have been disposed of, and 892 remain to be heard. That proportion may fairly be taken to apply to the rest of Ireland.
