HC Deb 11 November 1882 vol 274 c1631
MR. J. R. YORKE

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether he has any objection to lay upon the Table of the House, all the Correspondence which has taken place between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of Peru, between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of Chili, and that between Her Majesty's Government and the different Committees of the holders of Peruvian Bonds since the Correspondence last laid before both Houses of Parliament in 1877?

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

There will be no objection to lay on the Table any portions of the Correspondence with Her Majesty's Representatives in Peru and Chili and with the Peruvian and Chilian Representatives in London that may be of public interest; but with regard to the Correspondence with the Committee of Bondholders, as it contains much matter privately printed, and its contents are already known to the persons interested, Her Majesty's Government would not be disposed to incur the expense of its publication.
