§ MR. CHILDERSSir, I will answer that Question at once. Three officers have gone to the Soudan to make a report, not to take part in any military affairs. I consulted Sir Archibald Alison on the point whether it would be wise to send an escort, and he answered that it would not be wise. Therefore, an escort will not be sent with these officers.
