HC Deb 07 November 1882 vol 274 c938
MR. HEALY

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether any determination has been come to as to the extra allowance promised prison warders for extra duty performed under the Protection of Person and Property (Ireland) Act; if so, what; when the money will be distributed, and how allocated?

MR. TREVELYAN

I have just received a report on this subject from the General Prisons Board, which I have now under consideration. The Treasury have to be consulted; and, apart from that, I cannot admit that there was an absolute promise in the matter.
