asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether any further communication has been made to the Spanish Government, by Her Majesty's Government, in consequence of the Despatch of His Excellency the Marquis de la Vega de Armijo, dated August 12th 1882, in which the Spanish Government express a strong hope that the negotiations for a Commercial Treaty between Great Britain and Spain, Which are to bring about the ever-increasing development of the commercial transactions of both Countries, will soon be re-opened; and, if so, whether he will state its purport to the House, and lay a Copy upon the Table?
