HC Deb 02 November 1882 vol 274 cc654-5
MR. A. PEASE

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether his attention has been called to the following paragraph in the "Daily News" of October 31st:— The first attempt of the Council of Public Health, composed of Europeans and traders, to introduce the Contagious Diseases Act into Cairo is already a great success; and, whether this Act has been introduced with the sanction of Her Majesty's Government?

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

The Foreign Office have no information on the subject; and I may state that we are unaware of the existence of any body called the Council of Public Health.
