THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. GLADSTONE)Sir, the number of licences taken out to brew during the year ended September, 1881, by persons who did not pay any beer duty was as follows:—England, 83,409; Scotland, 2,285; Ireland, none.
