§ COLONEL BARNEasked the Secretary of State for War, Whether he has yet decided as to arming the British Army with Magazine Rifles?
§ MR. CHILDERSNo, Sir; no decision has yet been arrived at. The Committee on this subject has made to me several valuable Reports, the last dated a few weeks ago; but up to the present time I am not satisfied as to any of the arms which have been under trial, whether repeating or magazine rifles. Experiments are still going on.
